From Tiffani... I threw a Baby Sprinkle for my sister, several people have asked what is a Baby Sprinkle? A Baby Sprinkle is a celebration of the birth of a second child. It's a intimate and simpler party for the mother, since she probably still have the bigger items from the first pregnancy. So since my sister was having her second child we decided to throw a Baby Sprinkle. Since she is having a boy, I chose a Buttons and Bow-tie Theme and using navy/white stripes and Kelly green as the colors. I tried to incorporate the colors into all of the details.
Since my sister is a graphic designer, she designed the invitations and added a liner to the envelopes. So once guest received the invitations they knew exactly what to expect at the sprinkle.
Party Details: For the menu, I chose and made foods that my sister enjoys eating. So we had Boneless Buffalo Wings and Chicken Strips her favorite! I always make a fruit tart that my family really enjoys, so I created a bite size version of the dessert, using Chessman cookies the tart filling and blueberries. I used blueberries and limes to bring the colors into the punch and garnish it, making for a very tasty punch! I used bow-tie pasta in the pasta salad to accent the bow-ties.
The Blueberries Mini Tart Recipe:
Chessman Cookies
8oz. Cream Cheese
1/4 cup Sugar
Any fruit-we used blueberries 3-4 per tart
Allow the cream cheese to soften, once it has add the sugar. Assemble the cookies, chessman symbol up so that the filling will cover it. Add filling to the cookies and then add your fruit. Enjoy!!
Party Decor: To add a little something special to the napkins, I found a button punch and punched them on green paper. I added them to the napkins to replicate a shirt! I created straw flags using a cute navy and white striped ribbon. To tie the guest into the decor, I made mini green bow-ties for them to wear once they arrived to the sprinkle.
For the food table, I wanted to use all white serving dishes to keep everything clean and crisp. I made runners for the tables from fabric remnants that my sister gave me. Just so that guest knew exactly what everything was, I made food tags and added the navy and white ribbon to accent.
Bow-ties and buttons were accented through out the entire sprinkle.
