From Marci... When we found out our good friend Jennifer was pregnant with her firstchild, our immediate reaction was to start planning her shower…….pronto. Luckily, Jennifer and her husband Derek were quick to decide that regardless of the sex of the baby that Elephants were going to be the
“theme” for the baby to be. Since Jennifer also doubles as an Assistant during our peak wedding season at Entwined Design, she gave us full throttle rights to create her dream shower.
The entire baby shower was created around an “Elephant shower” theme based on the baby’s future nursery. We started the planning process with illustrations similar to what we send Brides after a Floral consultation and sent them to the Mother and Father to be. The invitations sent to guests were of elephants showering themselves with water and were a wonderful starting point to creating the centerpieces that framed the shower. Entwined Design staff fabricated Turquoise umbrellas inside of
vessels in the center of each guest table to create the “showered” theme for all guests. The florals tucked inside of the vessels were created using White Hydrangea, Grand Prix Roses and clusters of Yellow Cymbidium Orchids. Orchids were also hand wired under the umbrella to give the effect of floral rain on to the tables. The custom made linens were created by Erin of Events Taylor Made and were created specifically to match the umbrellas color tone. Events Taylor Made also provided all the lovely square plates, goblets, tables and chairs for the event.
Laurie Hocker created the amazing 2 tiered delectable cake and adorned the cake with fondant polka dots, sugar florals and a 4 inch fondant Elephant to place atop the cake. Buttercream frosted cupcakes in Chocolate and Vanilla each had a handmade Elephant created by the amazingly talented April Cenora of Events Inspired by Love. April not only utilized her wedding planning skills to help plan the event but also assisted us with creating several of our paper goods for the shower. We asked April to create two completely different banners for the shower, one for the dessert table and one for the gift table. She did not disappoint, utilizing the baby’s name “joseph” for one and “it’s a boy” for the entrance banner. Handmade paper goods were abundant from April as she also created the sign in Elephant, diaper cake, mommy and daddy to be chair signs, drink signage and the adorable favor holders and tags.
The talented Xanadu of Xanadu Dumert Photography captured all the amazing details for the shower and even created a mini session for the parents so they can cherish the memories forever.
