Ohhh... how I love a gorgeous backyard baby shower! This soirée, created by Jennifer Stafford Events and beautifully captured by Andrea Gurniak Photography, definitely doesn't disappoint. What an amazing spread! I'm in love with all the pretty food labels by One Sweet Party, as well as all the stunning yellow and white desserts -- red velvet cake pops, cupcakes with yellow sprinkles, lemon drop cookies and raspberry topped meringues.
From Jennifer... We went with a yellow & grey theme since baby's gender was unknown (and still is!), and found some great items on Etsy to match our color scheme. Here in Vancouver (B.C., Canada) we've had such a mild summer that there was no sure bet on the weather, but somehow I lucked out with the nicest day that month, and we were able to use my backyard.
With some tables/chairs & linen rentals from Pedersens Rentals we set up for a nice 'not too baby themed' baby shower. The stationary & color scheme really started when I found my invitations & coordinating stationary on Etsy, designed by AndersRuff.
I then purchased the paper straws & yellow/grey clothespegs from SoandSuch on Etsy, and had custom shower games put together in my colors from MadebyaPrincess on Etsy. I so love the chalkboard signs so I purchased some inexpensive frames from Ikea and then some chalkboard stickie paper from Michaels and put them together.
The flowers were purchased fresh from Costco, and assembled by me in mason jars with some twine. My mother tried her hand at making a 'classy' diaper cake, and her yellow, floral diaper cake adorned the gift table. For favors I purchased lemon & coconut soaps from the body shop, as a thanks for 'showering' me. Water bottles were wrapped with cheesecloth & safety pins to look like diapers, and were served along with lemonade & champagne/wine.
All of the desserts were prepared by me, except for two amazing pastry cakes from the local Old European Bakery. The food table showcased food prepared by my dad & I; home made sandwiches, caprese skewers, macaroni salad, spinach & strawberry salad, and vegetarian croissant sandwiches- it was delicious!
There was a guest book put together from a yellow scrapbook, and custom 'well wishes' cards that came with my stationary from MadebyaPrincess. With these cards filled out by guests, sonograms and pics from the day I have a nice little keepsake from the shower.
My photographer (and hopefully soon to be sister in law), Andrea Gurniak put together a photo booth using our gazebo. I had a photo booth at my wedding and it was such a hit, I thought we'd do it again. She picked up a few props for it, and I purchased some printable props from OneSweetParty on Etsy. Andrea also took all of the shots at the shower for me.
