Real Baby Shower: Blast Off

Wednesday, June 1, 2011

Here's another adorable baby shower designed by the Tie That Binds Parties. I always know I am in for a special treat when I receive an email from Mekala. These space themed invitations, signs, labels... basically everything printed... are SUPER FUN! Beautifully captured by Sweet Shibui Photography, this is a must-see event with lots of inspiration and drool-worthy food!

From the party planners... From the minute our friend Kim and her husband Jason found out they were having a baby boy, they both couldn’t stop talking about rocket ships and fire trucks so it was only fitting that we should have a rocket ship themed baby shower! After deciding on a theme, we got to work researching how to pull off our space theme to the fullest. We divided responsibilities according to each of our strengths, one in charge of venue, one in charge of finding a photographer and designer for our paper products, one in charge of the DELICIOUS food and another in charge of the general party supplies.

We asked Mekala from Tie That Binds Parties to design the paper products for the party. From the invitations, thank you cards, games, signage, and water bottle labels, to the favor bag stickers, we worked together every step of the way to be sure and capture Kim and Jason's fun space style. Our scrapbooking friend was assigned to making the adorable cupcake rockets, and our master culinary friend created the menu. It was truly out of this world!

Of course, one of the best decisions was to hire Tricia Little from Sweet Shibui Photography. She came early, was easy to work with, and captured every important detail of the shower. In the end, we all enjoyed the day so much and were thrilled to celebrate the new addition that will soon be a part of Kim and Jason’s life.
