Baby Shower Idea: 50's Retro Theme {Photo Shoot}

Tuesday, June 14, 2011

Happy days are here again! Designed by Sweet Emilia Jane for Ruffled, this AMAZING retro-themed photo shoot is such a cute idea! I love all the record labels as well as the scrumptious desserts from Sweets Indeed! The pink ruffled backdrop is the perfect decoration and looks like it would be easy to make. Amanda Doublin really captures the inspiration of the event along with the fine details. Nice job ladies! What a wonderful team effort to bring this shoot to life.

From Emilia... a couple of weeks ago i put together a photo shoot for RUFFLED with a few BLUE LABEL VENDORS. i had never met any of these folks before but as we worked together on the shoot it felt like we’d worked together a hundred times before. everyone got along so well and had such a great creative energy it made the shoot that much more special. granted there were a few hang ups…we were supposed to set up outside but due to some crazy wind (i was enclosed in a tornado of confetti at one point) we made some quick decisions and created something similar to our original plan indoors. my original inspiration was to do a brunch wedding because i love brunch to pieces. i’d also been thinking about old hollywood weddings like in the original father of the bride where they got married in the morning and everything was cleaned up by dusk. i love that! of course, there is no reason why you can’t after-party into the evening but there is just something so sweet about a mid-day ceremony and reception. i didn’t want to recreate the pastel-y, shabby chic look that has been going around recently but rather a bright, bold, doo-woppy vibe. we pulled inspiration from 50s diner and 50s rock n’ roll and the result is something kind of awesome. it might be the girliest thing i’ve ever done but i love it. AMANDA DOUBLIN did a fantastic job capturing every little detail!

Special Note: Be sure to check out Ruffled for EVEN more about this fabulous shoot. PLUS... more photos at the Ruffled Gallery.
