DIY Tutorial: Fortune Menus

Thursday, February 24, 2011

I saw this idea on Ruffled's blog and thought it would be equally cute as a baby shower menu. For your FREE DOWNLOAD, I have 2 menu options to choose from. (Special Note: please leave a comment for additional menu template requests) I was also thinking it would be a fun idea to add baby names to the inside flaps with the meanings underneath. Another great conversation starter. And... might possibly help the mommy-to-be in her upcoming baby naming decision. :)

Click on one of the descriptions below to download your baby shower Fortune Menu:
Template #1 (Beverage, Appetizer, Lunch, Dessert)
Template #2 (Appetizer, Salad, Main Course, Dessert)

Plain paper (colored or white)
Trimmer or scissors

Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Download the template
2. Open your desired application for inserting text
3. Insert this pdf as an image
4. Insert 4 text boxes below the headers (rotate three at 90, 180, and -90 degrees)
5. Print out the completed menu
6. Cut off 2.5" from the bottom -- leaving a 8.5" square
7. With the blank side up, fold over the four corners
8. Turn the paper over and then fold over the four corners again
9. Gently lift up the B-A-B-Y flaps forming a fortune teller

Special Note: This concept was originally created by Ruffled for a wedding and then tweaked by us for baby showers. Check out Ruffled for some fabulous inspiration! :)
