Baby Shower Idea: Once Upon a Time...

Tuesday, February 1, 2011

If you were thinking about planning an over-the-top, LUSCIOUS baby shower, then this Enchanted Fairytale soirĂ©e is it. These images from Justin Lee Photography scream luxury. Please say you're also head-over-heals smitten with this aqua and gold combo -- because I am -- FOR SURE. Cortnie from  Canvas & Canopy Events did a fabulous job in designing and styling this masterpiece and Vanessa from Alchemy Fine Events & Invitations - love the invitations. Cortnie spared no expense in the details, from the crystals in the trees to all the gorgeous white flowers. All I can say is WOW -- what a wonderful idea!

From Cortnie... We fused vintage fairytale storybooks with imaginary woodland animals. Fairytales are not soley for children!

All the amazing photographs were taken by the extraordinarily talented Justin Lee!

All of the guests, both young and old enjoyed the enchanting dessert table, which incorporated colored glass vintage plates serving an all white selection of desserts, jeweled paper cones filled with sweet popcorn & a charming gold tree hovered above with crystals dangling in the summer sunlight. A mystical forest created a backdrop to the dessert bar with acorns strung along the branches, while an owl hovered over the decor.

Guests feasted on everything from custom candy bags of ‘Merlins Magical M & M’s’, cookies frosted with golden crowns, and fluffy white donut holes to a cake topped with handmade golden marzipan acorns and leaves. Parents were each given hand soaps wrapped in a gold patterned print and served in a white ceramic swan to wash the messes off of their little ones after the day of delight!

The tablescapes were dressed with vintage aqua and gold vases accented by blue and white ceramic woodland animals, from a darling deer and owl to a few birds nestled among the center of the table.

We surrounded them with laser cut Tord Boontje greeting cards (our inspiration for the table) and set
all the splendid decor upon an aqua and ivory floral printed tablecloth. The white flowers were in abundance and poured out of vintage ceramic swans and birds and accented by sprays of white branches on either side.
