Real Baby Shower: Pink and Silver

Monday, January 10, 2011

Since I'm a graphic designer, I really appreciate well-designed printed materials. These menus and signs are simply adorable! Just the right amount of pink and such a cute font to get your attention. (which one is it? Must Know. hint. hint. nudge. nudge.) Well, at least it caught my eye when Amber Moon of Pit Bulls and Posies emailed me these STUNNING pictures. Photographer, Courtney Lindberg, captured not only the sweetness and innocence of the baby shower but also the friends and family and their love for Jen (the mom-to-be) in the photo booth. Yes, another photo booth. I'm seeing a trend in baby shower activities... Love it!

From Amber... We were all so excited to throw this shower for Jen! Jen and her hubby Dave affectionally call each other "bacon" (because nothing is better than bacon!)... and we chatted with Dave about what Jen was craving during her pregnancy, so that we could theme our shower food accordingly - he shared that she had been craving all things peanut butter! One of their first dates was in NYC - where they dined on "The Elvis" - a grilled peanut butter, honey, and banana sandwich... so we decided to recreate those yummy delights by having a "Make Your Own Panini Bar". The menu was rounded out with amazing egg dishes, fruit, and lots of homemade peanut butter sweets!

For activities, since we were hosting the shower at the home of our amazing photographer girlfriend, Courtney Lindberg, we decide a photo booth was a must! We made fun signs and every girl took a photo with the "#1 Auntie" sign - which we'll use to make a book for the new little one! We had a "Design your own onesie" station - where everyone created personalized onesies for the sweet girl!

For favors, we made homemade pickles - as an ode to the "pickles and icecream" pregnancy cravings - and found a quote that tied the pickles back into our "peanut butter" food theme.

We choose pinks and light shades of sliver and gray and accented with custom signs, homemade chiffon poofs, and beautiful peonies, sweet peas, and other pink flowers.

I love every single detail of this shower! So cute! I just had Amber Moon do the invites for my 2 year old's bday. They turned out amazing. I am a huge fan of anything Pitbulls and Posies and can't wait to see what she does in the future. And Courtney Lindberg's photos...THE BEST! What a dream team. :)
