Its so nice when you can use your current holiday decorations, add some pink accents throughout and viola -- you have the perfect December baby shower. We love how Jennifer from Hostess with the Mostess decorated with pink and red baby socks and ornaments hanging from the ceiling with ribbon, gift tags used as placecards, and wrapping paper used as the tablerunners. Jennifer's holiday themes are one-of-a-kind. We might just have to feature the Hostess again later this week... Are you as excited as we are? You should be. :)
From Jennifer... Mom-to-be is having a girl, so I just added some pink ornaments & papers to our regular red & silver holiday decorations to turn them “baby girl appropriate” for the day… Acrylic pacifiers, pink-labeled baby lotion & baby oil, baby socks, and “snow bunnies” were mixed into the decorations to give them a “baby shower” feel.
The tables looked full, but were decked out with mainly inexpensive details: the “table runners” were made from gift wrap, paper napkins were embellished with ribbon & gift tag “napkin rings”, and the red foil charger plates were $6.99/set of 4 at Target.
The overhead display in our kitchen was probably my favorite thing at the shower, (although it was hard to get a good shot of it with so much background stuff going on!). It was simply red and pink baby socks decorated with tiny ornaments + fun striped and polka dot ball ornaments hanging from pink satin ribbon. I lucked out with these sparkly red & white “candy cane” letters that were on sale at Joann for $1 each! The apothecary jars are from Michaels and look just as cute filled with ornaments as they do with candy! Inexpensive red foil charger plates from Target gave the table a festive feel. ($6.99/set of 4)
Pink napkins were folded an decorated with napkin "rings" made from red ribbon, holiday gift tags (polar bears and snowflakes), and adhesive rhinestones. The "table runner" is created from folded gift wrap. One of the centerpiece was created from cylinder vases decorated with wrapping paper and filled with "snow" and ball ornaments. A "snow bunny" stuffed animal and pink acrylic pacifier were added for a "baby shower" feel.
The sparkly sequin tree from Target added a fun, festive feel to the party. The pink label on the baby oil matched the rest of the decor. These cute bunny figurines are usually part of our Easter decorations, but they easily transformed into cute "snow bunnies" with the addition of cotton ball tails and a "snow" background. This oversize vases was filled with snow & ornaments, then decorated with white marabou boa and snowflake ornaments from Target. The large snowflake was decorated with ribbon and a pink pacifier. Empty boxes were wrapped with the same gift wrap used to decorate the tables and vases.
