of Corey Villicana Photography just warmed our hearts! So pour yourself a little cup of hot chocolate, put another log on the fire, and snuggle into a blanket because Elizabeth and I have the most charming baby shower to share with you this evening. We're not sure if we adore this shower by Corey so much because of all of the DIY homemade goodies, the beautiful Mom-to-be (I can only hope to look as beautiful and at peace when I'm pregnant), or the lovely flowers. I mean, can we take a moment to talk about the flowers? Aren't those blooms so wonderfully mismatched?! I swear the flowers from my garden never look so perfectly shabby chic when I try to put them together in a bouquet! There are so many wonderful spring theme gems to steal from this shower -- we think it's the perfect recipe for bringing a little garden party into your home during the upcoming chilly fall and winter months that lay ahead of us! So, enjoy all the loveliness (and sweet note from Corey) below, and we promise to have some more yumminess for you tomorrow evening!
From Corey... I was thrilled to plan and throw a baby shower for my sister last month in the backyard
of her Santa Barbara home. She is expecting my niece, Francesca the first week of October, and I can hardly wait to meet that sweet little bundle of joy. When planning the shower, I knew that i wanted the entire day to feel like a tribute to my sister. Mother to her ten year old son and step mother to her seven year old daughter, it had been quite some time sense her last baby shower! I wanted her to feel pampered and special, as well as absolutely beautiful and deeply loved above all else. I handmade all of the paper decorations as well as the wooden baby shower sign. All items were made of scraps that I already had lying around my craft shack. The cupcakes were made by following one of my all time favorite recipes. I added the photo mat as a keepsake item as well as constructing the little diaper Thank You cards that I gifted to her ahead of time so that her guests could self address an envelope to themselves while at the shower. The beautiful array of fresh flowers were hand selected at the local farmers market the day before the shower took place. At the end of the day I felt that I had really captured Kelly's essence in the design and decor of the shower. Classic, elegant, beautiful.
"Corey made the entire weekend magical. From coffee, scones and a trip to the farmer's market Saturday morning, where we selected breathtaking flowers to fill my home... to lunch and baby boutique shopping along the coast... and a relaxing dinner under the moon and twinkle lights on my patio, the preparation day before the shower was as big a treat as the event itself. Still, there was nothing like the joy and giddy happiness of welcoming my guests Sunday morning and spending perfect time together."
