DIY Shower: Colorful Mobiles

Thursday, November 18, 2010

If you've been reading our blog for a bit, you know that Elizabeth and I love balloons!  Besides having a big smile on our faces every time we see them in our submission photos, we think they're a pretty easy baby shower decoration -- fairly inexpensive, take up a lot of space, and provide a ton of color to the party!  (Plus, there's just something a little magical about them, right)?  :)  Well, when we saw these bright and cheery mobiles that crafting genius Jordan Ferney from Oh Happy Day created -- we couldn't help but grin from ear to ear.  Her mobiles are the happiest looking decorations we've seen in a long time!  (Not to mention we love nothing more than a DIY project that will have a big impression on your friends and completely transform a room)!  And while we think Jordan's colors for her project are stunningly beautiful, we love that you can cut the strips of paper from any color, so these colorful mobiles can match your theme!  (Plus, we think these would look absolutely charming above your little one's crib)!  So, enjoy Jordan's photographic DIY tutorial, and if you want in on the extra details check out her written directions on Project Wedding!

I love this and am seriously thinking about making them just to hang over my table for everyday loveliness. Great tutorial!

Beautiful. Can I do this without a sewing machine, like sticking the thread to the paper with glue? Will that even work? Please let me know... my event is this week and like always my first plan failed and I'm looking for last minute successful options.
