Real Baby Shower: Sweet Sorbet Colors Everywhere

Wednesday, October 6, 2010

It's been pouring all morning, so today we're moving our baby shower feature inside and taking you to Charlotte's warm and charming Brooklyn, NY apartment. Charlotte planned this shower for her friend Sherry, and while it isn't heavy on details, we doubt you'll even notice they aren't there. (I know we didn't -- we were too caught up in Charlotte's dream-like photos!) This shower is seriously one of the most adorable affairs -- bright and cheery and perfectly simple and sweet. Charlotte's choice of semi-hand made invitations, sweet tulips, cute cupcake toppers (that she found on etsy), and use of a wonderful sorbet-colored banner by Yreina Flores kept the festivities unfussy and yet, casually beautiful. We also adored the handmade calendar Charlotte stamped to create a game where friends and family could guess the little one's due date! Yes, we think this shower is going to put you in your happy blog-browsing place -- maybe this rainy Wednesday morning won't be so bad afterall :)

From Charlotte... It was a happy occasion at Shree's baby shower! Everyone was all smiles as they filled-up on champagne and chocolate cupcakes with coconut topping! Guests made guesses about the baby's birthday and weight, and Shree opened gift after gift!

I bought the letterpress notecards at Kate's Paperie, and then drew a speech bubble with the phrase announcing "It's a boy!" and turned it into a custom stamp. I printed out the party information on separate paper and attached the sheets inside the blank cards. As a finishing handmade detail, she stamped baby on the back of each envelope.

This is going to be one well-dressed kid. Congratulations, Shree and Damien! Looking forward to having a cute new Brooklyn boy to join us for Sunday brunch;)

Oh I love that guessing game!
