Real Baby Shower: Sweetest Tweet

When Christy Steadman from The Picsee Studio sends you an email with photographs in the attachment -- you know it's going to be over-the-top-gorgeous, so you better take a seat. And, so, for the next 5 minutes, Elizabeth and I recommend you shut your door, pull up a chair, and get ready to become seriously smitten over the beautiful baby shower photographs that Christy took for her good friend and soon-to-be-Mom, Daphanie. Actually, scratch that, let's make it 10 minutes because Elizabeth and I know you'll want to read Christy's sweet notes from the shower as well. I know we chuckled in delight when we read how Christy, Laura, and Jayne had their husbands help out with the celebration. It's incredible, but these ladies literally thought of everything when decorating for this "nest" theme baby shower. (Aren't the wreaths on the front doors and intricate flower arrangements on the tables to die for?!) We could keep going on and on about the insanely creative DIY ideas and inspirations from this shower, but I think we should just let Christy's photographs do the talking for us! But, one more thing before you get too caught up in all the beauty of this backyard baby shower, you may notice Daphanie's maternity shots in the background of the photos posted below -- no worries -- we'll share those with you soon. Because her maternity photos are fall-out-of-your-seat gorgeous. We mean GORGE-OUS! :)

From Christy Steadman... Those of you who know me know that I LOVE to plan parties! Since the moment Daphanie told us she was preggo, Laura, Jayne and I have been hard at work designing and planning her baby shower. We knew we wanted it to be unique and different and of course totally awesome! We wanted to have nests incorporated, so we built our theme around that idea. Laura, Jayne and I got together a couple of times to plan out the details and discuss dinner options inbetween our busy work, kids and school schedules. We each have our own special talents and we definitely put those to good use! Jayne designed and hand made each invitation, which were to die for! Laura picked out the runner fabric for the tables and had her mom help sew it. She also created all the floral arrangements, frisco cups salads and desserts. I designed the menu cards and stickers for the jars and took pictures (along with Jen’s help) at the shower and made the pecan crusted stuffed chicken. It was really important for us to support our local businesses, so we tried to get everything we could at all of our awesome stores. The first place we hit up was Style. If you havent been there you must asap! Style is located two doors down from our studio in downtown Kingsport. We found some really cute wooden and mercury birds there that went perfectly with our theme. We also used Hobby Lobby (a lot), Evergreen, and Tennessee Florist Supply. We were able to keep the baby shower theme a secret from Daphanie for seven long months! I know, we can't believe we were able to do that either! She had absolutely no idea what we were planning and it was a total surprise. We even got some of the men involved in the festivities and had them act as waiters to serve us dinner! The morning of the shower was a LITTLE hectic placing the tables, making the flower arrangements, cooking, and making sure every last detail was perfect. The look on Daphanie’s face when she saw everything was SO worth it! She was totally surprised and cried when she saw everything! Daphanie we are all so excited for you and Joe! We are thrilled you enjoyed your baby shower and we cant wait to meet little Hayden!

From Daphanie... I'm so happy and thankful to have such wonderful friends! I could never thank you girls enough for the most wonderful shower that I've ever been to. I love looking at these and seeing all the love and detail that went into this shower. Love you guys.
